Alastair Speare-Cole

Alastair Speare-Cole, Chief Executive, JLT Re

Alastair graduated from Oxford University in 1981 and began his career as a trainee with Jardine Matheson at Jardine Thompson Graham.

He has worked for various organisations including: Meacock Samuelson, Alexander Howden who were acquired by Aon in 2000 and as COO of Aon Re UK.

He was Chairman of Aon Benfield Securities Ltd and part of the senior management team at Aon Benfield post merger. He has recently taken up his new role at JLT Re hereby returning to Jardines where he started his career.

During this time he has been personally involved in Casualty and Motor business and building analytical capability to support these classes. He has been involved in the leadership and management of Aviation, Retrocession, Marine, Analytics and non-conventional Reinsurance.

Alastair is an FCII, CIP and a Fellow of the Geological Society.
