Colin Campbell - Head of Risk and Compliance, Arcadia Group Ltd
Colin Campbell (ACII, MIRM, BA) is an experienced risk management professional responsible for delivering a portfolio of risk management activities at Arcadia Group.
He manages a team of compliance, risk, insurance and safety management professionals whose mandate comes from the board to advise on risk issues.
Colin is integral to Sir Philip Green’s management team; he reports to Paul Budge, Group Finance Director. Colin supports business strategy and planning and engages directly with the business operations on the ground through risk activities.
Colin has acquired extensive experience in claims handling, underwriting and corporate risk management at General Accident, now part of Aviva, and Argyll Group – the food, drinks and retail conglomerate – which became Safeway plc.
Whilst at Argyll Group Colin first managed risk issues arising out of merger and acquisition activity, namely the infamous take-over battle with Guinness plc for Distillers Company.
More recently Colin has lead Risk Management through the integration of BHS into Arcadia Group.
2011 has also seen Colin add ‘Compliance’ to his widening portfolio of services provided to the Group.
An advocate of the benefits of good risk management, Colin contributes to numerous industry forums.
A former chairman of the Association of Insurance & Risk Managers (AIRMIC), Colin, remains an active member of AIRMIC’s Board of Directors, chairs the Finance Committee and participates in the Insurance and the Risk Management Steering Groups and Retail Industry Group.
Colin is a Chartered Insurance Practitioner being an associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute (ACII) and a full Member of the Institute of Risk Management (MIRM).
He holds a BA in Financial Services and memberships of the Business Continuity Institute (MBCI) and The International Institute of Risk & Safety Management (MIIRSM).
Colin leads a dedicated team of risk management professionals within Arcadia which won the coveted Strategic Risk Magazine “European Risk Management Team of the Year” 2011.
